Our trip out to the desert, for my Landscape Photography workshop at this year's GPP event, was an interesting one as it was extremely windy. Normally I don't mind the wind - you can't live on the north west coast of England if you can't cope with a bit of wind - but it's a real hazard is the desert: the sand howls around, filling every available crevice it comes into contact with. Which is OK for ears, eyes, pockets and so on, but not so good for cameras and lenses. Anyway, we survived the ordeal, all got some great shots, and our gear survived the trip.
