Today was a bit of a busman's holiday for me as I had a couple of hours on the beach. And, loathe though I am to admit it, the beach at Dubai is considerably warmer, bluer and greener than Blackpool's. I didn't find any old tyres or broken buckets though, which was a bit of a disappointment, but other than that it was an enjoyable trip ;-)

On another matter: Happy Birthday Amirah, and I'm sorry I can't be there to share it with you. I hope you have a good day :-)

Amirah turns 13 today, and as we're expecting another girl in April that now means that we will have teenage daughter's in the house for the next eighteen years. Wish us luck ;-)

OMG you in Dubai? This will probably be the most impressive pictures of this place I've seen to date. Would be good if you take pictures of the Marina... might be better than our brochures.

Colour is stunning!

comment by E y e V i s i o n at 09:20 PM (GMT) on 20 March, 2007

Good luck then :)
What a blueish, greenish beach....I wish to be there. Very nice one. What is that thin white line at the edge of the horizon? Is it a wave or an island?

So colorful! Superbe

comment by nferreira at 09:32 PM (GMT) on 20 March, 2007

What a fantastic composition!

I'm jealous! Blueish water, sunny, warmer weather, beach! And I'm here with cold, gray sky and wind. ;-)

comment by Alexandru at 10:03 PM (GMT) on 20 March, 2007

I'm jealous also. For the shot and for Dubai.

comment by Joseph at 10:13 PM (GMT) on 20 March, 2007

For a moment there I thought you'd post-processed a photo of that light pole just next to Fleetwood Pier! Looks gorgeous out there.

Envy you on Dubai... but not on another 18 years of hormones ;-)

Nice shot! The colors makes me wish it was already summer! Wonderful tones.

Beautiful! I love how the vertical element bridges the two larger elements. Very well done.

How I wish I could be there! Fantastic minimalist shot :-)

John was 'missing his buddy' today. My passing on the URL for this will *really* cheer him up. Oh yeah..... :p

I am saving up for a moat around my house for a similar reason. Have you submitted plans for yours to the council yet?

comment by P.J. at 05:14 AM (GMT) on 21 March, 2007

Those colors are simply amazing. Good capture. (Oh, and good luck...hehe)

comment by Annika at 07:30 AM (GMT) on 21 March, 2007

I definitely wish you luck. I have one soon-to-be-teenager-girl and sometimes I want to hang myself in a tree someplace where noone will ever find me. ;)

comment by Jennifer at 08:27 AM (GMT) on 21 March, 2007

I hope there are plenty of bathrooms at home ;-) Fabulous colours - very jealous.

comment by peter at 08:29 AM (GMT) on 21 March, 2007

Now this is what a beach should look like - I just want to jump right in. Teenage girls for 18 years.......I dunno...sounds scary

Ooooh, such colours and good composition! And so peaceful...

comment by Sysagent at 08:58 PM (GMT) on 22 March, 2007

Great azure colouring, almost surreal aint it compared to the balmy sea's we have over here in the North West of England..

:D

Hope you are having a great time Dave.

comment by Steve at 09:08 PM (GMT) on 22 March, 2007

While I enjoy the shot, I am a little surprised that no one has mentioned the clarity of the object there. It just doesn't seem as sharp as it could be. Nice shot other than that though.
