Title • burning arrow

The Blackpool Illuminations began in 1879 when eight arc lamps were first used to light the promenade. These days there are thousands of lights (illuminated between late August till early November) of which this is one example. I'm sure I'll probably be photographing many more of these, but this one seemed as good a place to start as any, not least because it's on our way to the beach.

Oh, and I was a awarded a noteworthy for my entry for the Photo Friday challenge Mother, which I'm really pleased about. Thanks to everyone who voted :-)
