Fortunately, after worrying yesterday that I might not have anything to put up today, I managed to take three shots that I'm happy with that I'll put up over the next couple of days. I initially thought that I might use this one for this week's Photo Friday challenge – Landscape – but I have a much better one that I'll put up on Monday.
As for this shot: I didn't do too much too it other than increase the contrast and saturation, selectively sharpen areas of the fence wire, and selectively blur some of the digital noise in the foreground. I have tried to find ways to work with the noise in digital images, as film based photographers work with grain, but to date I haven't been all that successful, mostly because digital noise is mostly quite ugly. Actually, I suspect that this is probably something to do with having a Canon G5 as opposed to a DSLR; i.e. the sensor is much smaller and more prone to digital 'errors' of this type.
